Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Participants were enrolled in this study if 6 months or more had passed since onset of first stroke, the ability to walk at least 10 m was required (regardless of need for assistance), the required mini\-mental state examination (MMSE) score was at least 24 points, and the Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS) score was under 2 points. All patients were diagnosed with a chronic stroke as defined by computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients with a cognitive, visual, or cardiorespiratory disorder(including cardiac pacemaker placement, heart failure, and arrhythmia), orthopedic intervention with ankle problem, balance disorder with dizziness, skin disease and undergoing botulinum toxin injections within the prior year were excluded.
