This study showed that ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block may have comparable effectiveness with fluoroscopy-guided cervical epidural steroid injection in patients with unilateral cervical radicular pain during the 6-month follow- up.

入选标准

  • Adult male and female patients aged between 20 to 70 years who can understand and cooperate with the purpose of study
  • - Patients who have cervical radiculopathy that matches findings of MRI
  • - Patients who have cervical radiculopathy from unilateral 1 or 2 level that can be triggered by physical examination
  • - Patients who did not respond to conservative management such as medication/exercise over 1 month
  • - Patients who voluntarily agreed in writing to participate in the trial

排除标准

  • - disagreement to participate in the study
  • - history of cervical spinal surgery
  • - symptoms with bilateral or more than three segments
  • - need to exclude facet joint syndrome or myofascial pain syndrome
  • - involvement in motor function
  • - side effects on local anesthetics or steroids
  • - abnormal blood clotting, pregnancy, lactation
  • - yellow flag sign
  • - red flag sign
  • - uncontrolled medical and psychological problems
