Inclusion Criteria
Age =18 years; inpatients on wards of the internal medicine department, ENT department, dermatology department and neurology department of the Bundeswehrkrankenhaus Berlin”; patients with an indication for abdominal sonography.
Exclusion Criteria
Age < 18 years; lack of informed consent; patients unable to give consent; necessity for emergency examination.

Name Time Method Assessment of defined anatomical structures in abdominal ultrasound in 3 groups (fasting, nutritional drink, breakfast) by 5 level Linkert- scale
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Assessment of anatomical structures by senior doctors (experienced”) in comparison to junior doctors (less experienced”); the craving for food intake in the different trial groups; the influence of the body mass index” (BMI) on evaluation of anatomical structures; the need for repetition of examinations in the different trial groups; the influence of the sex on evaluation of anatomical structures; the collection of the nutritional risk score (NRS) and different clinical risk factors for nutritional risk.
