•1. Comply with the standard of depression in the Western medicine diagnostic standard ''Chinese Classification and Diagnostic Criteria for Mental Disorders, Third Edition (CCMD-3)'', and the standard of depression in the TCM diagnostic standard ''Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Efficacy Criteria for Diseases and Syndrome'';
•2. Aged 18-70 years;
•3. Patients with mild to moderate depression with total score of Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) > 20 and < 35;
•4. Those who have been approved by the ethics committee of the hospital and agreed to sign the informed consent form for the experiment.

•1. Patients with secondary depression caused by other organic diseases;
•2. Those with severe heart, liver, lung, kidney dysfunction or serious diseases and infectious diseases;
•3. Pregnant or lactating patients;
•4. Taking antibiotics, steroids, immunosuppressants and other drugs 2 weeks before the assessment;
•5. Those with severe suicidal tendencies.
