Inclusion Criteria

1. Age more than or equal to 18years.

2. All pregnant women with hypertension whose blood pressure recording are more than or equal to 140/90mmhg more than 4 hours apart.

Exclusion Criteria

1. Multifetal pregnancy

2. Women with pre-existing or concurrent Medical disorders like diabetes mellitus, cardiac disease, renal disease, thyrotoxicosis,haemophilia and chronic hypertension.

3 Absolute contraindications to nifedipine and labetolol.

4. Hypertensive women with intrauterine death at presentation.

Primary Outcome Measures

Decrease in blood pressure, which drug lowers the blood pressure faster and more effectively.Timepoint: every 15 minutes after giving the drugs.
