Brief Summary

To compare theeffects of intrathecal isobaric levobupivacaine – fentanyl and isobaric levobupivacaine– buprenorphine for spinal anaesthesia in lower limbsurgeries with regards to spinalblock characteristics, post operative analgesia and intraoperative haemodynamicstability.

The following parameters are to be studied in each group.

·        Timeof onset of sensory block.

·        Maximumheight of sensory block.

·        Durationof sensory block as regression to L1

·        Timeof onset of motor block.

·        Durationof motor block.

·        Durationof post operative analgesia

·        Intraoperative changes in heart rate and mean blood pressure.

·        Sideeffects such as nausea vomiting, pruritus and respiratory depression

To compareall the above parameter in both the groups.
