Inclusion Criteria
1. Patients belonging to ASA class I and class II.
2. Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
3. Patients who understand Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)
Exclusion Criteria
1. History of allergy to local anesthetics
2. History of opoid addiction.
3. History of coagulopathy.
4. Infection at the site of needle entry.
5. Recent intake of alcohol/ sedatives/ analgesic/ narcotics.
6. History of co- morbid diseases.

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess the quality and duration of post operative analgesia by adding butorphanol(opoid) to ropivacaine (local anesthetic) in USG guided tranversus abdominis plane block.Timepoint: To assess the quality of post operative pain immediately after the block then, every thirty minutes for next three hours then every three hours for twenty fours.
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method To assess the sadation score using Modified Ramsay Sedation Scale, Pulse rate, Systolic blood pressure, Diastolic blood pressure, Mean blood pressure, Respiratory rate and Side effects, if any.Timepoint: Assessment will be done immediately after the block then, every thirty minutes for three hours then every three hourly for twenty four hours.
