Inclusion Criteria

) Ambulatory, Male and Female Volunteers between 18-55 years of age with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of approximately 18-30 kg/m2 diagnosed with stageI hypertension

Essential Hypertension of greater than at least 1 month duration.

4) Stage 1 Hypertension with Systolic BP 140-159 or Diastolic BP 90-99 (JNC-7 Criteria) of greater than at least 1 month duration

Exclusion Criteria

1)Secondary Hypertension.
2)Uncontrolled Hypertension.
3)History of Hypersensitivity to Beta Blockers or any component of the product.
4)Patients With Severe Bradycardia, Heart Block, Cardiogenic Shock, Decompensated Heart Failure, Sick Sinus Syndrome.
5)Females who are Pregnant or Lactating or planning to become Pregnant.
8)Subjects on Fluoxetine, Nicardipine, Cimetidine, Non- Dihydropyridine CCB?s and other CYP2D6 Inhibitors.
