Investigators
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. Diagnosis of isolated femoral shaft fractures amenable to fixation with an antegrade IM nail
- •2\. Patients with pelviacetabular fractures other fractures or bone grafting procedures necessitating operative intervention
- •3\. Patients giving informed, written consent to be a part of the study
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Femoral shaft fractures not amenable to antegrade intramedullary nailing
- •2\. Open fractures
- •3\. Pathological fracture
- •4\. Patients having any of these comorbid conditions: Intracranial events (stroke, bleeding, infection), Fluid or electrolyte disturbances (including dehydration, hyponatremia, Hypernatremia), Acute cardiac events:
- •myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure
- •exacerbation, arrhythmia, Acute pulmonary events: asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, pulmonary embolism, hypoxemia, hypercarbia, on anti coagulants or antiplatelet drugs.
- •\- history of leukaemia, cancer with bone metastases, renal
- •failure, patients on dialysis or receiving
- •immunosuppressive medication, and those with suspected
- •local or systemic infection. â??
