Inclusion Criteria
Patients undergoing total thyroidectomy
Exclusion Criteria
Patients with proven or suspicious of malignancy
Elevated renal parameters(Serum creatinine- >1.2 mg/dl)
Patients with conditions that could potentially affect serum calcium level:
Musculoskeletal diseases
Hyperparathyroidism
Patients already on supplemental calcium and vitaminD
Medications known to effect calcium levels
