1.Age >18 years old
2.Patients with undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion
1.Patient not willing to consent
2.USG screening showing multiseptated pleural effusion covering >50% of volume of pleural effusion on USG
3.Patient unable to lie down in lateral decubitus position
4.Disoriented/Un co-operative patient
5.Hemodynamically unstable patient
6.Un correctable coagulopathy
7.ECOG > 2
8.Pregnant women
9.Significant co-morbidities- large pericardial effusion, decompensated CLD, Recent MI ( < 8 weeks),CKD
