简要总结

Atracurium and vecuronium are both non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents used in general anesthesia to facilitate intubation and surgery.

Onset and Duration of Action: Both drugs have a rapid, dose-dependent onset (1-4 minutes) and a duration of action one-third to one-half that of pancuronium. Atracurium generally has a shorter duration compared to vecuronium, making it preferable in cases requiring a brief muscle relaxation period.

Metabolism: Atracurium undergoes spontaneous chemical degradation, while vecuronium is primarily metabolized by the liver. This difference in metabolism makes vecuronium more suitable for patients with normal liver function, whereas atracurium may be a better choice in cases of liver or kidney dysfunction.

Clearance: Both agents have a plasma clearance rate of about 5 ml/min/kg, which is faster than many longer-acting agents, leading to rapid recovery and minimal accumulation with repeated doses.

In conclusion, the choice between atracurium and vecuronium depends on factors like the desired duration of action, patient liver and kidney function, and specific surgical needs, allowing anesthesiologists to optimize patient care
