Inclusion Criteria

  • •a.ASA 1 and 2
  • •b.Difficult airway (modified Mallampati
  • •class IIIâ??IV or inter\-incisor distance
  • •\< 2\.5 cm)
  • •c.Age group 18\-60 years
  • •d.Planned for awake fibreoptic intubation

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\) Nonco\-operative patients
  • •2\) ASA class 3 and 4
  • •3\) Local pathology of the neck precluding injections
  • •4\) Bleeding diathesis
  • •5\) Allergy to local anesthetic agents
  • •6\) Intellectual impairment or psychiatric
