Inclusion Criteria
All consecutive patients admitted to the PICU will be enrolled in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Patients who die within 48 hours of PICU admission (this is because we want to study the effect of early EN initiated within 48 hours of admission versus EN initiated later).
2.Patients with gastrointestinal diseases/ malformations that preclude enteral nutrition and need parenteral nutrition.
3.Post-surgical/ operated patients transferred to PICU for medical care.

Name Time Method 1.Day of initiation of enteral nutrition (EN) in patients admitted to PICU. <br/ ><br>2.Day of reaching initial caloric goal [defined as reaching two-third i.e. 66.66% of the calories of the basal metabolic rate (BMR) estimated by the Schofield equation]. <br/ ><br>3.Day of reaching final caloric goal (as estimated by the Schofield equation). <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br> <br/ ><br>Timepoint: 1.
