Inclusion Criteria

Children aged 8- including 16 years and their parents.
-The participant's BMI exceeds the 97th percentile and/or either a) obesity-associated risk factors or b) obesity-associated diseases are present
-Sufficient German language skills of the children and parents
-Sufficient motivation of the children and parents to actively participate in the training course.
-Normal ability to attend school
-The previous outpatient medical treatment according to the currently available guideline recommendation (e.g. AGA) was unsuccessful.

Exclusion Criteria

-Psychological disorder or illness (e.g. eating disorder, bulimia).
-lack of motivation on the part of the children or their parents
-Inadequate group ability
-Adiposity due to a medical condition (e.g., Prader-Willi syndrome)
-lack of written consent
