Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Children aged 8\- including 16 years and their parents.
  • •\-The participant's BMI exceeds the 97th percentile and/or either a) obesity\-associated risk factors or b) obesity\-associated diseases are present
  • •\-Sufficient German language skills of the children and parents
  • •\-Sufficient motivation of the children and parents to actively participate in the training course.
  • •\-Normal ability to attend school
  • •\-The previous outpatient medical treatment according to the currently available guideline recommendation (e.g. AGA) was unsuccessful.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •\-Psychological disorder or illness (e.g. eating disorder, bulimia).
  • •\-lack of motivation on the part of the children or their parents
  • •\-Inadequate group ability
  • •\-Adiposity due to a medical condition (e.g., Prader\-Willi syndrome)
  • •\-lack of written consent
