The placebo control study for the increasing effect of the amount of corneum water by trehalose in the normal skin surfaces of the external aspects of the left and right forearms and of the external aspects of the left and right lower legs.(SCWT)

I applied the hirudoid cream adding 5% trehalose or only hirudoid cream on the left and the right extensor aspects of the forearms and the lower legs for 38 healthy persons. Only hirudoid cream applying side showed significant high water contents of the stratum corneum comparing to the hirudoid cream adding 5% trehalose applying side.(p<0.01)
