- Brief Summary
After the onset of type 1 diabetes in a child, many families need differentiated information on specific social law regulations. However, many specialist diabetes outpatient clinics or practices do not have social workers for this purpose, so those affected turn to the diabetes team or search for help online. As part of a pilot project, the DAMP Foundation supported the establishment of the "Children's Diabetes Pilot for Schleswig-Holstein" at UKSH Lübeck from 2015 to 2021. A central element was the creation of a website with legally verified information for families and diabetes teams: https://www.kinderdiabeteslotse-sh.de. The acceptance of the website will be examined here. 179 people answered an online questionnaire on the website. Approximately one third each were parents, healthcare professionals and people who provided no further information. The majority (92%) rated the website as important, 85% saw no need for improvement. Help and information on the subject of school were particularly important.
