- Brief Summary
10 patients with oral cutaneous sinus tract(OCST) were part of our study. 4/5 patients of both groups disinfected with Calcium hydroxide (CaOH) and Triple antibiotic paste (TAP) healed within 6 weeks. One patient from each group healed after apicoectomy. Descriptive analysis showed that TAP was not effective in treating ERR. However, CaOH has 100% (2/2 patients with ERR) efficacy in the management of ERR. The patients in the study were from 16 years to 35years. Their mean age was 24.6years. Descriptive analysis also showed that 8/ 10 patients in the study had OCST under their chin due to necrosed mandibular incisors and 2/ 10 patients had OCST below the angle of mandible due to pulp necrosis in mandibular molars. Thus, CaOH and TAP, both can be used for the treatment of OCST. However, the current study suggested that CaOH is the disinfectant of choice for the treatment of external root resorption.

- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Cure of external root resorption was assessed by radiographs i.e resorption of root stopped and there was no further decrease in the length of the root or there was continued root formation[18 weeks from the start of treatment or until cured; ]
