Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Adult patients ( \>18 yrs), with anticipated duration of mechanical ventilation greater than 48 hours with absence of pulmonary pathology as reason for mechanical ventilation will be included in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Patients in whom there is anticipated difficulty in performing lung ultrasound, eg. thoracic surgery, thoracic trauma with ICD, obesity (BMI \>40kg/m2\) will be excluded from the study.
