Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •All children between 6 months to 18 years of age admitted in Kasturba Hospital and diagnosed to have beta thalassemia major.
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Known case of congenital thyroid disorders, congenital heart disease, chronic renal disease, chronic hepatic disease
- •2\. Family history of premature atherosclerosis (onset of symptoms \<60 years in female and \<55 years in male)
- •3\. Family history of hypercholesterolemia
- •4\. Children with BMI \> 95th percentile
- •5\. Children with hypertension according to age, sex and height
