study will be carried out on 60 patient of ASA grade 1 and grade 2 for upper limb surgeries ,after clearance from ethical committee.patient will under go pre-anaesthetic check up ,wrritten informed consent will be obtained . patiet will receive either 30 ml levobupivacaine with adjuvant dexmedetomidine or normal saline for supraclavicular brachial plexus block under usg guidance.
1)age < 18 years and > 60 years
2)pregnancy
3)infection at puncture site
4)coagulopathy
5)allery to local anaesthetic
6)psychiatric illness
7)Neuropathy
8)brachial plexus injury

Name Time Method 1)to evaluate onset of sensory & motor blockade with dexmedetomidine as an adjuvant to levobupivacaine . <br/ ><br>2)to evaluate effect of dexmedetomidine with levobupivacaine on duration of motor and sensory block and duration of analgesia.Timepoint: sensory and motor blockade will be observed at 5 ,10 ,15 ,30 ,45 ,60 ,75 ,90 ,105 , 120 minutes
