Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adult patients of American Society of Anaesthesiologists (ASA) Physical status Class I and II, who will be scheduled to undergo elective surgery under general endotracheal anaesthesia and fulfilled the inclusion criteria mentioned hereafter, at JSS Medical College and Hospital, Mysore.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients with a history of motion sickness. Patients who are already on treatment with anti\-emetics, a steroid medication, or any other drug known to cause emesis currently or in the immediate past. Patients with known hypersensitivity to isoflurane or thiopentone. Pregnant or nursing mothers. Patients with severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac diseases. Obese patients with BMI \>30kg/m2\. Patients with an anticipated difficult airways. Vomiting within 24 hours before surgery or of any organic etiology.
