Brief Summary
Comparative study of postoperative pain relief between transversus abdominis plane block and transversalis fascia plane block by ultrasound guided technique in unilateral inguinal hernia repair by using visual analogue score and patient satisfaction using likert scale in 60 patients in a tertiary care hospital

Inclusion Criteria
- •Patients undergoing unilateral open inguinal hernia mesh repair as elective procedure.
- •Patients aged between 18 and 65 years
- •Patient willing to give informed consent
- •American society of Anaesthesiologists Physical status (ASA PS) grade I & II 5.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Known allergies to local anaesthetics
- •Redness or infection at the site of injection
- •Coagulation disorders
- •Obstructed and strangulated hernia
- •Renal or liver disease.
Outcomes
Primary Outcomes
To compare the duration of analgesia between Transversus Abdominis Plane block and Transversalis
Time Frame: Time interval from administration of block to the point when visual analogue score more than 3
Fascia Plane block in unilateral inguinal hernia surgical repair.
Time Frame: Time interval from administration of block to the point when visual analogue score more than 3
Secondary Outcomes
- To compare the pain severity between Transversus Abdominis Plane block and Transversalis Fascia plane block in unilateral inguinal hernia surgical repair.
- To compare patient satisfaction between Transversus Abdominis Plane block and Transversalis(Fascia Plane block in unilateral inguinal hernia surgical repair.)
