Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\) Participants must be at least 60 years old; (2\) they must exhibit mild to moderate symptoms of depression, as measured by a Geriatric Depression Scale\-15 (GDS\-15\) score of 5 t0 11 (3\) be proficient enough in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia to provide informed consent and
  • conduct the interview in Bahasa Indonesia. (4\) Sufficient hearing to follow verbal instructions
  • and the capacity to sit comfortably for forty minutes based on the interview with the prospective participant and the information from caregivers in the nursing homes.

Exclusion Criteria

  • (1\) Older people with severe symptoms of depression, a diagnosis of psychosis or Bipolar disorder according to DSM\-IV, a history of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, or other severe mental disorders or medical illness that may affect their attendance or ability to engage in group activities; (2\) Older people with cognitive impairment as defined by MoCA score \> 19 that would make their participation impossible; and (3\) Older people who are unable to provide informed consent because of cognitive impairment.
