Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Residents of Manizales, Colombia; aged over 50 years; diagnosis of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (GOLD I\-IV) confirmed by spirometry; evidence of a Forced Expiratory Volume in the first second (FEV1\) / Forced Vital Capacity (FVC) ratio less than 70
Exclusion Criteria
- •Diagnosis of known respiratory disorders other than Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD); history of significant inflammatory disease; malignancy; coronary disease; carrier of osteosynthetic material; partial or total limb amputation; neuromuscular, orthopedic and/or medical disease that impedes or physical exercise; CPOD exacerbation in the four weeks prior to inclusion; recent surgery and participation in pulmonary rehabilitation programs or physical exercises in the last year
