1. adult(>19 yr) patients who visited the emergency room of Gachon University Gil Medical Center after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
2. Patient who does not have exclusion criteria
? No return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC)
? Death before 24 hr after ROSC
? Cardiac arrest caused by trauma (not including hanging injury) and poisoning, Cardiac arrest in pregnant patients
? Patients who have do-not-resuscitate orders, terminal cancer patient
? Patients with (alcoholic or diabetic) ketoacidosis
? No agreement of caregivers for this study
? Patient who was transferred from an outside institution after cardiopulmonary resuscitation
? Patients who have end-stage kidney disease or advanced chronic kidney disease with baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate of less than 30 mL min-1 1.73 m-2)
? Patients who have hypernatremia (>150 mEq/L), hyperkalemia (>5.5 mEq/L), or hyperosmolality (>320 mOsm/kg)
? Cardiac arrest caused by stroke
