atients older than 18 years old with stable chronic kidney disease and hypertension are included in this project. Patients with diabetes mellitus, patients on renal replacement therapy, patients on antihypertensive medication (which cannot be stopped), patients on immunosuppressive treatment are excluded.

Secondary Objective: Secondary objectives to study the effect of atorvastatin on kidney function and PRA in hypertensive patients with CKD.;Primary end point(s): muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA);Main Objective: The primary objective is to investigate the effect of a statin (atorvastatin) added to chronic ARB therapy on sympathetic activity in CKD patients. We expect that sympathetic activity will be further reduced.
