This study compares the effectiveness of Soft Robotic Glove (SYREBO) therapy and Mirror Therapy, both combined with conventional physiotherapy, in improving hand function among stroke patients. Stroke commonly results in reduced manual dexterity, decreased grip strength, impaired coordination, and difficulty performing daily activities. Early and structured rehabilitation plays a crucial role in restoring upper limb function and promoting independence.

The study followed a structured 4-week intervention protocol. Conventional physiotherapy included range of motion exercises, task-oriented training, grip strengthening, balance exercises, and stretching with progressive advancement each week. Group A received additional training using the SYREBO soft robotic glove, which provided assisted and repetitive finger movements to enhance motor relearning and functional grasp. Group B received mirror therapy, where patients performed structured hand activities using visual feedback from the unaffected limb to stimulate motor recovery.

Outcome measures used to evaluate effectiveness included the Fugl-Meyer Assessment for motor recovery, the Purdue Pegboard Test for fine motor dexterity, Hand Grip Dynamometer for grip strength, and the ABILHAND Questionnaire for functional hand ability in daily activities.

入选标准

  • Post stroke hemiplegics aged 18 and 65 years Fugl Meyer Assessment score 30 to 50 Mini Mental State Examination score more than 21.

排除标准

  • Individuals with bilateral stroke.
  • Stroke patient with any other diagnosed Neurological and Psychosomatic condition.
  • Stroke patient with shoulder or arm contracture/pain less than 6 months.
