Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\. Caregivers of PwFEP with age group of 18\-50 years, with in the first 5 years of onset of illness.
  • 2\. Caregivers of PwFEP DSM\-IV diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizophreniform disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and psychosis not otherwise specified.
  • 3\. Caregivers of PwFEP who resides in and around Bangalore (within 50 kilometers of distance)
  • 4\. Caregivers of PwFEP willing to come for follow up at NIMHANS, Bangalore.
  • 5\. Caregivers of PwFEP who can speak Kannada, Telugu and English languages.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\. PwFEP having substance induced psychosis, organic psychosis, psychosis as a part of dementia and mental retardation
  • 2\. Caregivers of PwFEP diagnosed of having severe psychiatric or neurological disorders
  • 3\. Caregivers of PwFEP involved in the care of another family member suffering from serious physical or mental illness.
  • 4\. Caregivers of PwFEP who have already received similar intervention package.
  • 5\. Caregivers of PwFEP unable or unwilling to give informed consent.
  • 6\. Caregivers of PwFEP who will be unable to come for the follow\-up at NIMHANS.
