Investigators
Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\) Males and females aged 19 to 65 years
- •2\) Diagnosed with appendicitis and scheduled for laparoscopic appendectomy
- •3\) Provided with explanation regarding the purpose and characteristics of this study and agreed to written informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\) Accompanying complications such as perforated appendicitis or diffuse peritonitis
- •2\) Onset of surgical site infection(SSI) during admission
- •3\) Regular use of painkillers or use of other pain relieving medicine on the day of the surgery
- •4\) Cardiovascular disorders such as arrhythmia or using a pacemaker
- •5\) Received acupuncture treatment within 6 weeks prior to surgery
- •6\) Previous hypersensitive reaction to acupuncture treatment or other conditions that are incompatible with acupuncture treatment
- •7\) Pregnant, breast\-feeding or planning pregnancy during study period
- •8\) Others that have been deemed inadequate for participation by research investigators
