Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •COPD patients, all severity (mild, moderate, severe and very severe), as defined by the Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guidelines (2\) with forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1\)/forced vital capacity (FVC) ratio \< 0\.7 will be recruited if they meet the following criteria:
- •1\) Age between 40\-80 years old;
- •2\) Stable conditions, i.e. no acute exacerbation, change in pharmacological therapy, or hospital admission in the past 1 month;
- •3\) Good ability to communicate and follow instructions.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Subjects of either group will be excluded from this study if they meet the following criteria:
- •1\) History of diabetes mellitus, cardiac arrhythmias, lung cancer, or mental disorder;
- •2\) Alcoholism and/or current smoker;
- •3\) Musculoskeletal or neurological abnormalities, such as stroke, upper limb or lower limb injuries;
- •4\) Acute conditions, such as fever, uncontrolled hypertension.
