Study Overview

Brief Summary

Aim

To evaluate clinical utility of bbcr repertory in the individualized homeopathic management of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in patient aged 50-70 years.

Objectives

To demonstrate the utility of BBCR Repertory in reducing the vertigo symptoms scale in the cases of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in patient aged 50-70 years.

To identify the most commonly prescribed remedies for BPPV cases using the BBCR repertory.

Hypothesis

Null hypothesis (H0): There is no significant improvement in the management of Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in individuals aged 50-70 years using individualized homoeopathic treatment based on the BBCR repertory.

Alternative hypothesis (H1): There is significant improvement in the management of Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo in individuals aged 50-70 years using individualized homoeopathic treatment based on the BBCR repertory.

Data management and methodology

All patient data will be collected in a structured case record form during clinical visits. Information such as demographic details, clinical symptoms, VSS scores, repertorisation findings, and prescribed medicines will be properly recorded. The collected data will be kept confidential and stored securely under the supervision of the investigator. Data entry will be done in a systematic manner, and regular checking will be performed to avoid errors. The improvement in vertigo symptoms will be evaluated by comparing the VSS scores before and after treatment. Statistical analysis will be done at the end of the study to assess the overall effectiveness of BBCR repertory-based homoeopathic management.

This study will be a prospective experimental study conducted at the OPD of C.D. Pachchigar Homoeopathic Hospital, Surat. Patients aged 50–70 years diagnosed with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) will be included in the study. Both male and female participants will be selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Each patient will receive individualized homoeopathic treatment prescribed with the help of BBCR repertory. The severity of vertigo symptoms will be assessed using the Vertigo Symptom Scale (VSS) at baseline and during follow-up visits. Follow-up will be done every 3, 7, or 15 days as required. The total duration of the study will be 9 months.
