Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •A total of fifty patients between 18\-72 years of age, of either sex belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I, II or III undergoing elective thoracotomy will be recruited in the study.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\.Patient with infection at the site of injection
  • •2\.Coagulopathy
  • •3\.Spine deformity
  • •4\.Drug addicts or history of opioid dependence
  • •5\.Patients on chronic analgesic therapy
  • •6\.Patients with history of allergy to opioids or local anaesthetics
  • •7\.Patients with liver disease, cardiac disease or renal failure
  • •8\.Patients requiring postoperative mechanical ventilation
  • •9\.Patients receiving anticoagulation or any bleeding disorder
  • •10\.Patient refusal
