All cases documented in the German Network for Safety in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Therapy registry with a regional analgesic catheter placement (01.01.2007 until the day of data readout)

Name Time Method Degree of infection<br><br>No infection: no signs of infection<br>Mild infection: presence of 2 symptoms out of redness, swelling, and pain.<br>Moderate infection: mild infection plus 2 criteria: increased C-reactive protein, leukocytosis, fever, or pus at the punctured site.<br>Severe infection: necessity of surgical intervention such as incisions or revisions.
