Normal participants,no addiction to smoking,alcohol.Not having any chronic diseases,COPD,CVS disease,DM,HT,any psychiatric illness.Not undergone any surgical procedure in previous 6 months.

Brief Summary

This study is randomized,open label,parallel group trial comparing the effects of yogic exercise and treadmill exercise on resting heart rate variability, VO2 max and general well-being for six months in undergraduate medical students. Present study will be conducted in India for one and a half year duration.Primary outcome measures will be resting heart rate variability,VO2 max  while secondary outcome measures will be general well-being assessed by WHO-QOL domains.

Inclusion Criteria
  • First year MBBS male students from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi (M), Wardha.
  • Participants who had volunteered 3.
  • Participants who had given written consent.
Exclusion Criteria
  • 1.Previous experience of yogic or treadmill training.
  • Addiction to smoking and drinking.
  • Suffering or diagnosed with any chronic diseases.
  • Participants with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, cardiovascular disorder, hypertension or diabetes.
  • Recent surgical procedures during the previous 6 months.
  • Participants not giving consent.

Primary Outcome Measures

Post intervention changes in Heart rate variability and VO2 max will be estimated and compared.At every 2 months interval till 6 months of intervention all parameters will be assessed.
Secondary Outcome Measures

General well being will be assessed by WHO-QOL scoreBefore intervention as baseline and after 6 months of intervention.
