主要终点
This study involves the development of patient-derived organoid models from clinical samples of individuals diagnosed with a specific subtype of breast cancer. The objective is to establish and characterize three-dimensional organoid systems derived from metastatic brain sites from primary breast tumor. The organoid platform will be leveraged to explore therapeutic sensitivities, with the broader goal of informing strategies for metastasis tumor growth from primary site.

简要总结

This study aims to develop advanced laboratory models that replicate the progression of an aggressive form of breast cancer when it spreads to the brain. Such brain metastases are particularly difficult to diagnose and treat effectively, contributing to poor patient outcomes. By creating models derived from patient metastatic brain tumor samples, this research seeks to better understand how these cancers evolve and respond to treatment. The insights gained from this work may help identify why current therapies often fail and whether new treatment strategies can improve patient outcomes. Ultimately, the study hopes to contribute to the development of more effective interventions that could improve the survival and quality of life for patients facing this challenging disease.

次要结局

  • Secondary aims of this study include the evaluation of organoid responses to conventional therapeutic agents, with the goal of identifying treatment patterns that may correlate with clinical outcomes. The organoid system will further serve as a platform to evaluate the feasibility of targeted delivery strategies across the blood-brain barrier.(36 months after surgery)
