1) if they reported a history of at least 1 substantial
ankle sprain 2) episodes of the ankle ‘‘giving way’’ in the 6 months before the
study, 3) a score = 25 on the Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool
(CAIT).
1) history of previous surgery to the musculoskeletal
structures of either lower extremity 2) fracture in either lower extremity
requiring realignment 3) acute musculoskeletal injury to the joints of the lower
extremity in the 3 months before the study that affected joint integrity and
function, resulting in at least 1 lost day of desired physical
activity.
