1 Newly diagnosed case of gradeI hypertension
2 Adult age group from 18 yrs to 80 yrs
3 Patients willing to give written consent
4 Hypertensive patients without other co morbid factors like angina cardiac ischemia cerebrovascular disease peripheral vascular disease cardiac infarction renal disease preexisting edema corpulmonale anaemia hypoproteinemia nephrotic syndrome hepatic cirrhosis
1 Patients taking NSAIDS and Amantadine
2 Patients taking other anti hypertensive drugs
3 Pregnancy
4 Patients taking antipsychotic drugs
5 Patients taking drugs that cause Pedal Edema
6 Patients not responding in treatment during 2 weeks
7 Patients taking less than 30 percent of the tablets dispensed as study medication
