(1) Patients were 18-80 years old patients who will undergo primary open inguinal hernia repairs with mesh, unilateral, or bilateral.
(2) Group was defined as nerve excision for the intervention group (IIN) and ilioinguinal nerve preservation (IIP) for the control group in the same population group.
•Recurrent hernias
•Hernia with complications like obstructed/strangulated hernia.
•Patients not willing to get enrolled.
•Patients not having contact phone number for follow up.
•Patients in whom ilioinguinal nerve is not identiï¬?ed during operation.
