Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Both type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus will be included. Persons diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus will be eligible for inclusion immediately upon diagnosis, since they are at risk of diabetic neuropathy.4 Persons diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus for 5 years or more will be eligible to be included in the study, since they are considered to be at risk of diabetic neuropathy.4 Both patients with current loss of protective sensation (LOPS) and without LOPS will be eligible to be included in the study.
Exclusion Criteria
- •Persons with serious illness who require hospital admission will be excluded. People with neurocognitive and psychiatric disorders due to which they are unable to do foot self\-care themselves will be excluded from the study. Those with active foot ulcers will also be excluded.
