Being healthy (ASA I and II) over >=16Â years presenting with asymptomatic and symptomatic
teeth with open apex having clinical signs and symptoms of large periapical lesion requiring
endodontic surgery.
Patients for whom an explicit diagnosis and treatment plan could be established after thorough
clinical and periapical radiographic examination and did not warrant further CBCT examination,
Nonrestorable teeth, patients with generalized severe periodontitis with >30% of teeth involved(Stage IV periodontitis), pregnant and lactating females and smokers were excluded.
