Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Age \>\=18 years
- •\- able to understand study purpose and risks in German language
- •\- for patients only: diagnosis of essential tremor made by a movement disorder specialist according to established criteria
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- presence of other neurological or psychiatric conditions
- •\- drug or alcohol misuse (exceprion: cigarette smoking)
- •\- contraindications against MRI assessment (e.g. cardial pacemaker, joint replacements, tattoos etc.)
- •\- marked claustrophobia
- •\- contraindications against alcohol consumption
- •\- relevant medical conditions such as severe heart disease or metabolic disorders
- •\- pregnancy
- •\- breast feeding period
- •\- orthopedic disorders that would prevent participant from lying flat in the MRI scanner
