Children with signs and symptoms of bronchitis in the age group 3-10 years ,willing to take part in the study.
Children with documented history of chronic bronchitis.
Children clinically diagnosed of other pulmonary diseases or allergies like bronchial asthma, emphysema, tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia etc.
Patients on prolonged (6 weeks) medication with corticosteroids, bronchodilators, mast cell stabilizers etc.
Investigations are not done to rule out the exclusions. The exclusion is based on clinical features, history of illness along with available investigations.

Name Time Method To study the effect of Bharngyadi kashaya arka by assessing signs and symptoms of bronchitis by Bronchitis Severity Score (BSS)Timepoint: Five parameters in BSS SCORE (cough, sputum production, rales/ronchi, chest pain during coughing and dyspnoea) are assessed before (on 0 th day ) and after (22nd day)the administration of trial drug to clinically interpret the severity of bronchitis
