  • All consecutive patients aged 55-64 years, either sex, referred to the Endoscopic Units of Torino and Novara for screening colonoscopy due to positive fecal occult blood test (FOBT)

排除标准

  • 1. Use of antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants that preclude removal of polyps
  • 2. Refusal to participate or inability to give informed consent

arrow-band imaging compared with conventional colonoscopy for the detection of colorectal polyps in adults: a randomized controlled trial.Colorectal polyps are common and usually benign and produce no symptoms. There may be single or multiple polyps and they become more common as people age. There is some evidence that most cancers develop from polyps, particularly from adenomatous polypstherefore, detection and eradication strategies for polyps are important.
