(1) diagnosis of hemispheric stroke resulting in unilateral upper extremity deficits at least 3 months ago previously.
(2) first-ever ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke
(3) ability to understand instructions, which was confirmed by a Korean version of the Mini-Mental State Examination Status Exam score >25
(4) a Medical Research Council (MRC) scale score >3 for the strength of the affected wrist and finger muscles
(5) a Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) score was less than grade 1+ of the affected wrist and finger for spasticity.
(1) multiple or bilateral brain lesions
(2) age <19 years
(3) any neurological or psychological disorder other than stroke
(4) any severe medical condition
(5) predisposing severe pain in the upper extremities that could impede participation in the intervention
