1.Consenting patients with cirrhosis of liver attending the outpatient / inpatient services of Division of Gastroenterology.
Cirrhosis of liver is defined as the histological development of regenerative nodules surrounded by fibrous bands in response to chronic liver injury, that leads to portal hypertension and end stage liver disease
In clinical practice, the diagnosis is based on a combination of clinical, biochemical and radiological findings with or without evidence of varices on endoscopic evidence.
2. Age above 18 years
Patients with tuberculosis, cancer or other severe co-morbidities that will affect the outcome independently will be excluded
