Exclusion Criteria

- refractive errors of the sphere or the cylinder more than -3.50 diopters
- a history of other retinal diseases (diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration).

Primary Outcome Measures

As a primary endpoint, we define differences between the affected eye and the healthy, contralateral eye in the macular, optic disc and peripapillary vessel area density of different layers, examined by optical coherence tomography-angiography.

Secondary Outcome Measures

Secondary endpoints include glaucomatic changes as measured by optical coherence tomography and differences in retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, endothelial cell thickness, mean deviation in perimetry, cup-disc ratio and foveal avascular zone.
