All patients between 18 - 75 years of age with a hallux valgus
No radiographic evidence of degenerative metatarsophalangeal MTPJ arthritis.
Persistent symptoms (painful bunion)
Adequate range of motion MTP1
IMA 10-20 degrees
Stable TMT 1
Normal hindfoot alignment
Severe osteoporosis
Cognitive dysfunction limiting clinical evaluation
Previous operation on the affected foot.
History of diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, peripheral neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, or other inflammatory diseases
