All patients undergoing elective surgeries with moderate risk for DVT on Capirini score 4 or less and are willing to participate in study.
i. All patients with High and Very high risk for DVT/PE.
ii. Any patient who is already on prophylaxis.
iii. Mechanical prophylaxis to be avoided in
-Suspected or proven peripheral arterial disease
-Doppler pressure index < 0.8
-Peripheral arterial bypass grafting
-Peripheral neuropathy or other causes of sensory impairment
-Known allergy to material of manufacture
-Severe leg oedema
-Major limb deformity or unusual leg size or shape preventing correct fit
-Fragile ââ?¬Ë?tissue paperââ?¬• skin, dermatitis, gangrene or recent skin graft.
